After completion of surgical training, Dr. Boardman served 4 years in the U.S. Army where he received multiple military honors. In 2005, after his time in the Army, Dr. Boardman relocated to Clermont, FL to begin his career in private surgical practice. Dr. Boardman joined Mid-Florida Surgical Associates in 2010.
Dr. Boardman is a general surgeon with interest in robotics and minimally invasive surgeries to treat various conditions including, hernias, colorectal diseases, bowel, biliary, gastric reflux, and endocrine disorders. He also is experienced in treatment of cancer of the breast, colon, skin, and thyroid. He treats venous disease for varicose and spider veins. He uses advanced technologies including the da Vinci robot, Linx and THD, as well as the ability to perform ultrasound/ultrasound guided procedures.
Dr. Boardman is highly respected in the community and served as the president of the Lake-Sumter Medical Society. He served as chief of surgery at South Lake Hospital and as a member of the South Lake Hospital Foundation Board. Dr. Boardman is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been recognized by the Florida Medical Association for his leadership and by the Consumer Research Council of America as “One of America’s Top Surgeons”.
Dr. Boardman is married to Dr. Mary Beth Lewis-Boardman and together they have two children, Annabella and Sam. He enjoys traveling and playing golf.
